MGA is committed to preparing Maryland's eldercare workforce. 

The field of aging is rapidly evolving. With advancing technologies, care models, and healthcare, there is a growing need for Maryland professionals to remain knowledgeable of the most relevant gerontology issues and industry trends. Join MGA each month for a member only Coffee Break with MGA speakers’ series. Attendees will participate in a 30-minute interactive conversation with community influencers and local disruptors who are at the forefront of innovative care solutions and strategies.

Lauren Zahner is a clinical assistant professor in Towson University’s Department of Occupational Therapy & Occupational Science and specializes in adult neurological rehabilitation. Lauren has been an OT for 13+ years in a variety of settings. She has completed Allied Team Training for Parkinson’s and is certified in LSVT BIG.    

Allysin E. Bridges-German has more than 23 years clinical experience across the continuum of care, and has worked with a wide range of adults and older adults, and currently practices per diem at a PACE program in Baltimore. Allysin is in her fourth year at Towson University as a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Doctoral Capstone Coordinator where she continues her research and exploration on fall prevention and age-friendly communities. She is eager to begin a new role as the President of the Maryland Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA) starting January. Allysin is a wife and mother of two sons and a dog, all who keep her very busy!
