MGA is committed to preparing Maryland's eldercare workforce. 

The field of aging is rapidly evolving. With advancing technologies, care models, and healthcare, there is a growing need for Maryland professionals to remain knowledgeable of the most relevant gerontology issues and industry trends. Join MGA each month for a member only Coffee Break with MGA speakers’ series. Attendees will participate in a 30-minute interactive conversation with community influencers and local disruptors who are at the forefront of innovative care solutions and strategies.

PRESENTER:

Dr. Kate Hernandez, DPT is a passionate physical therapist and the founder of Therapy In Motion, a mobile physical therapy practice delivering expert, one-on-one care directly to patients’ homes. As a Medicare-participating provider, Therapy In Motion specializes in working with aging adults to help them maintain strength, mobility, and independence.

With a deep belief that movement is medicine, Kate focuses on the powerful role of exercise in supporting overall health—improving not only physical strength and function, but also mood, cognition, and quality of life. She is a firm believer that “old does not mean weak” and that it’s never too late to build resilience, restore function, and move with purpose. Her work centers on empowering individuals through practical, evidence-based physical therapy that helps them stay active and engaged at every stage of life.
