MGA is committed to preparing Maryland's eldercare workforce. 

The field of aging is rapidly evolving. With advancing technologies, care models, and healthcare, there is a growing need for Maryland professionals to remain knowledgeable of the most relevant gerontology issues and industry trends. Join MGA each month for a member only Coffee Break with MGA speakers’ series. Attendees will participate in a 30-minute interactive conversation with community influencers and local disruptors who are at the forefront of innovative care solutions and strategies.

  1. Define the highlighted aging-related issue.  

  2. Recognize the impact of the identified aging-related issue. 

  3. Describe strategies to address the identified aging-related issue.    

PRESENTER:

Sam Zisow-McClean, MPH, RDN, LDN (they/them) is a public health nutrition professional with 15 years of experience delivering high-quality community nutrition services. Sam is driven to ensure these services are available to all people, especially those who were historically denied access to appropriate nutrition care and healthy foods.  Sam currently serves as the Director of Programs for Moveable Feast, a non-profit community-based organization serving Marylanders living at the intersection of food insecurity and serious chronic illness. In this role, Sam supervises service delivery, healthcare partnerships and government funding, and aligns operations and strategy to meet organizational goals. Prior to joining Moveable Feast in this role, Sam worked as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in clinical settings, focusing on HIV and renal nutrition.
